Can a career
fulfill one’s life purpose? For some, yes. For others, their
careers will be the means to finance their life’s purposes
or visions. Work and purpose must either be one in the same or
must complement one another. Most importantly, work and purpose
must never be at odds with one another. Focusing on any of the
following will ensure these two forces harmonize.

Discover
Your Purpose
Some
call it finding their passion or having a vision. Some write a
personal mission statement. Others think of it in terms of leaving
a legacy. Whatever form it takes and however you think of it,
having a purpose is like having autopilot for your life and career.
When daily
tasks begin to wear on your patience, your purpose gets you through
the day by giving you a goal larger than the present moment. And
when you are called to take a personal or professional risk, your
purpose can supply the energy to pull you forward.
How
do you discover your purpose?
Most people
find that discovering their purpose is a fluid process. Finding
it requires persistent introspection. Your purpose might be readily
apparent or it might show itself when you’re not really
looking, usually while you’re focusing on another area of
your life. So, your first step is to let go of your expectations.
Then you’ll be able to enjoy the journey while your Coach
guides you through this process.

Develop
a Synchronized Work Style
It
is frustrating to use a system that is completely out of sync
with your style of work or to work with people who have completely
different ideas about how things should be done. It’s like
pushing a piece of string up hill—you can do it, but boy,
the energy hardly seems worth it.
The answer
is to develop a Synchronized Work Style. Having
a Synchronized Work Style means that you actively work to leverage
your strengths and work in harmony with your natural qualities.
It also means seeking to understand and complement the natural
qualities of those you work with and forging win-win agreements
with them.
Benefits
of developing a Synchronized Work Style:
 |
Becoming
more efficient and effective at work |
 |
Gaining
more influence with co-workers and boss |
 |
Having
work take much less energy and be more rewarding |
 |
Becoming
more flexible |
 |
Deciding
more easily whether new projects, positions or departments
are a good match for you

Create
a Powerful Presence as a Professional Woman
While
glass ceilings are slowly disappearing, the professional workplace
is still predominately male, and the reality is that men think
and relate differently than women. In order to compete efficiently
and effectively as a woman, it’s important to understand
both the innate and nurtured differences between the genders and
to use this knowledge to your benefit.
At the same time, to be powerful in the workplace you must learn
to embrace you female qualities while leveraging your strengths.
Benefits
of working with a Coach to Create a Powerful Presence
as a Professional Woman:
 |
Develop
strong personal boundaries |
 |
Make
tough decisions without suffering a high emotional cost |
 |
Act
assertively without coming across as callous |
 |
Correctly
anticipate the behavior of male colleagues |
 |
Put
female qualities like empathy and compassion to good use |
 |
Advance
your career without compromising your values |

Become
an Empowering Leader
Leadership
is both a skill and an art. Since different people and situations
require different methods of leadership, a person’s leadership
style has to be flexible. Because the individuals being led will
grow with their experiences, a leader must constantly learn and
grow as well. And this being America, employees have a strong
sense of personal rights. Employees expect to be valued. And more
and more they want to be coached into maximizing their potential.
Consequently, effective leadership can no longer focus solely
on results. Developing all of your employees at one time might
seem like a huge task, but it doesn’t have to be. Once you
integrate coaching techniques into your leadership style you will
empower your employees to develop themselves. It’s their
responsibility, not yours, but they need your experience, guidance
and encouragement. And once you create an atmosphere that encourages
all employees to be and do their best the results take care of
themselves.
Benefits
of working with a Coach to Become an Empowering Leader:
 |
Employees
become self-managing and self-motivated |
 |
Productivity
and profitability are increased |
 |
Work
is completed before or on time |
 |
Employees
begin developing mutual respect amongst themselves and with
you |
 |
Absenteeism
and conflicts are reduced |
